NZAPI, July Update

Posted By HBFA | July 14, 2022

Who can believe it’s time to start thinking about the new season! As always, the start of the season sees a flurry of planning and organisation to get set up for the next few months and the NZAPI team are keen to help growers along the way. There are a few things coming up over the next couple of months to keep in mind.

Registration for the season
Grower registration for this season opens on the 1st of August and must be completed by 1st of September. During this time, Sam Mills from NZAPI will be available to help anyone work through the registration process. Either give her a call on 022 190 0993 or email her at sam@applesandpears.nz to organise a time to pop into the Hastings office to catch up in person.

Season Start Up meetings
The NZAPI team will be meeting with grower supply groups across Hawke’s Bay over the next eight weeks. This is an opportunity for growers, technical managers, orchard managers, and anyone involved in the orchard to get together with the NZAPI team to debrief on last season and provide a heads up on what’s important for the season ahead from a market access, crop protection and labour viewpoint. Dates for the Season Start Up meetings can be viewed on the NZAPI website.

Skill Up – Education Days
Education Days are awesome days in Hawke’s Bay. It is a great short training day for orchard staff and their managers to come together to freshen up on some key topics for the upcoming season. This year’s Hawke’s Bay pre-season ‘Skill Up – Education Day’ will be on the 11th August 2022, so put the date in your diary and bring your team along. Details will be sent out via the weekly email, and available on the NZAPI website.

All the best for the coming season, and remember we are here to help, just give us a call.
